The Office of IT Security & Compliance serves a management and coordination role for the university's information security and compliance policy, communication, education, practice development, project development, and auditing. We work with constituents and departments of the university to ensure compliance in the following areas:

  • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA)
  • Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLB)
  • Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS)
  • Red Flag Rules (Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, Federal Trade Commission)

We also actively participate in various IT security organizations, stay abreast of developments, assess products and services to aid the university in improving and managing IT security operations and actively deal with significant security issues that may occur.
