Nobel Prize Winner Vernon Smith to Return to Samford
Samford will host Nobel Prize-winning economist Vernon L. Smith as a guest speaker on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m. in Brock Forum at Dwight M. Beeson Hall. Smith will deliver a lecture featuring “The Theory of Moral Sentiments,” exploring the timeless insights of economist Adam Smith and their relevance to human behavior and modern-day society.

Bennett Wagley is a sophomore finance and economics student from Franklin, Tennessee, and is a member of the Brock Scholars program. He is also involved in the University Fellows program and serves as a Samford Ambassador.

Anna Lynn Harms is a sophomore economics, sociology and Christian ministry student from Knoxville, Tennessee and is a member of the Brock Scholars program. She is also involved in the Micah Fellows program and Excel Leadership Certificate Program at Samford.

Aidan Reyes is a junior finance and computer science student from Richmond, Texas and is a member of the Brock Scholars program. He is also a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and serves as treasurer for the Samford Outdoor Adventure club.

Will Miller, a senior finance major from Greensboro, North Carolina, is a member of the Brock Scholars program. He also serves president for the sports business and analytics group in Brock School of Business and has been involved in sports analytics for various Samford athletic teams.
