Cumberland School of Law’s Office of Academic Support assists its students’ academic success, professionalism and life balance through workshops and events, resources, individual sessions and mentoring groups. The office will host a wellness week, October 9-14, 2022, in order to emphasize the importance of practicing activities to nourish emotional, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, social, spiritual and physical well-being.
Lynn Hogewood serves as Cumberland School of Law’s director of academic support. She said, “The ABA came out with a report in 2017 about how to support lawyers with six different prongs of wellness. Because of the intensity and stress of law school and the legal profession, especially considering the impact of the pandemic on mental health and well-being, Cumberland offers opportunities for activities that support wellness in a variety of ways. This Wellness Week highlights activities that serve as a pause to remind law students to make time for balance, for better learning and overall health.”
