Cumberland School of Law’s Negotiation Team competed in Villanova University’s second annual E-Sports Negotiation Competition, Oct. 21-23, 2022. Cumberland was represented by two teams--Jacari Holt and Connor Chase comprised one team; Ford Waters and Robin Blocksom comprised the other.
Both teams advanced to the quarterfinals, where they were forced to compete head-to-head. Chase and Holt won a close round and advanced to the semifinals, where they fell to eventual champion Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law.
They were coached by Ben Warren '18, Dylan Martin '21 and Thomas Thorneycroft '20.
“With less than two weeks to prepare, our students worked incredibly hard to ensure they were prepared to compete in this competition,” said Warren, head coach of Cumberland’s negotiation teams. “Not only did one of our teams make the semifinals, narrowly losing to the eventual competition winner, but one of our teams had the highest score going into the second day of the competition. The results speak volumes about the effort everyone on the team put into this competition.”
