Cumberland School of Law’s National Trial Team won the inaugural “Battle of the Experts” tournament hosted by Drexel University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 8, 2018. Team members include second-year student Lana Bell, and third-year students Allison Bendall, Brooke DiSalvo and Denzell Moton.

Cumberland defeated 13 teams en route to the championship including those from Drexel University School of Law, Fordham University School of Law, Loyola Law School and Pacific McGeorge School of Law. Lana Bell won Best Advocate in the preliminary rounds. Cumberland’s team was coached by alumni Jeremy Hazelton '02 and Spenser Templeton '15.
