In the past week, you may have seen many messages from the Lucille Stewart Beeson Library providing information concerning our services during our move to a virtual campus. The following is a recap of things to keep in mind:
  • For reference assistance, you can email lawref@samford.edu or use the Ask Us feature on the library’s website. We will respond to as soon as possible to any messages received between 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
  • You don’t have to worry about late fines for materials that could not be returned on time due to the campus shutdown. Library fines will not accrue for overdue books after March 6, 2020.
  • The law library’s online catalog is still a good place to begin research for foundational materials. Many electronic books (including study aids and treatises) can be located by using the catalog.
  • The law library’s databases are available to you from wherever you are. In order to use them, you will need your university issued username and password.
  • West Academic Study Aids is a database that provides “easy online access to hundreds of study aids, treatises, and audio lectures to help you succeed in law school.”
  • Research guides are available to assist you with locating information within the law library’s online collections.
Please remain safe, and remember that the Lucille Stewart Beeson Law Library is still here for you.
