As a 2L I am vice president of the National Latina Law Student Association, Historian for the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board, Parliamentarian for the Black Law Student Association, and Treasurer for the Cumberland Public Interest and Pro Bono Program.

Legal Interests

My legal interests are broad and range from litigation like immigration and products liability to more transactional work like tax and administrative law.

Outside Interests/Hobbies

Outside of law school I enjoy watching romantic comedies, doing Lego sets, and attempting craft projects with friends. I am also passionate about education and serve as secretary for the Teach for America Alabama Alumni Board.

What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland?

I think the BEST thing is the support from everyone that makes up Cumberland. I have never been turned away from someone after asking for help. This is true for staff, professors, and even other students. I have relied on people for class help, tailor recommendations, and just general advice. This allows me to be comfortable expressing the things I'm interested in both personally and professionally which has introduced and allowed me to take advantage of opportunities I might not have had the chance to otherwise.

Why did you choose Cumberland?

I chose Cumberland because of the welcoming and supportive people I met prior to coming. Early in the process I received a lot of support and advice which allowed me to start 1L much more confidently.

What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?

What I most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham is the accessibility and support students get from local attorneys and law firms. The proximity has allowed me to meet with attorneys in person which has led to stronger mentor relationships that often answer questions I couldn't even think to ask.

If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?

I would tell pre-law me to not be afraid to reach out to people doing things I'm interested in. That's all networking really is! Whether it be an attorney who practices in the field I'm interested in, to classmates taking classes or who do hobbies I'm curious about, it's always worth reaching out to learn more.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

After graduation I plan to still be in Birmingham practicing law!
