Student Organizations/Extracurricular Activities

Aside from serving as an Admission Ambassador, I serve on Honor Court as a 2L Honor Court Justice, and I'm also a Senior Member on the Trial Advocacy Board. I'm a member of the Alabama Student Bar Association, the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Women in Law, and am currently trying out for the National Trial Team.

Legal Interests

I am interested in all things trial advocacy. More specifically, I am interested in representing plaintiffs in civil and/or criminal litigation matters.

Outside Interests/Hobbies

My hobbies include hanging out with friends, reading John Grisham books, playing with my toy poodle, Destin, and binge-watching shows. My favorites are Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, Scandal, and Law & Order: SVU.

What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland?

The best thing about Cumberland is the community. Law school can be very intimidating at first because it is so new and different from undergraduate. However, from day one, Cumberland's community made this transition easy, comfortable, and exciting. Faculty, staff, and students all work together to achieve one goal: success. Despite the competitive nature of law school culture, everyone works together, and we all lift each other up no matter what. This kind of community and support from others sets Cumberland apart from any other law school and thereby promotes wellness and mental health for students.

Why did you choose Cumberland?

I chose Cumberland for its nationally top-five-ranked trial advocacy program. I've known for years that I want to be an attorney who practices in litigation work, so this prestigious trial advocacy program drew me closer to Cumberland and ultimately led to my decision to attend and have the pleasure of learning from brilliant judges, attorneys, and professors that have graced Cumberland's halls.

What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?

I enjoy studying law in Birmingham because of the extensive legal opportunities that exist throughout the city. From nonprofit legal opportunities to corporate law and criminal law, Birmingham's legal community caters to many different legal interests and allows for growth and success in many areas of law. Regarding what I like to do in Birmingham, I enjoy finding new places in the city to explore and hang out with friends.

If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?

The best advice I would give is to run your own race. No one is going to learn the law the same, take notes the same, or study the same. You have to do what's best for you and learning what's best for you may take a week, five weeks, a semester, or two semesters. Run your own race and do what's best for you, and I promise you'll succeed and thrive as a law student.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

After graduation, my plan is to go into private practice and represent plaintiffs in civil and/or criminal litigation.
