Eric Getty serves Cumberland School of Law as a clinical instructor in residence and leads the law school's risk management and insurance clinic. Getty is the senior vice president at McGriff Insurance Services LLC. 

Prior to joining McGriff in 2018, Getty was a partner in one of the largest law firms in the Southeast where he gained extensive experience litigating complex commercial disputes, negotiating contracts, and advising clients on day-to-day legal matters. At McGriff, Getty serves as a legal consultant to McGriff’s insurance and surety teams on a variety of matters, including contract and bond form review, surety and insurance claim issues, coverage issues, and pertinent local, state and federal laws.

He routinely assists McGriff's national and international clients with complex contract negotiation to limit liability and appropriately allocate risk among the parties. He regularly provides training on the topics of contractual risk transfer and surety to clients, internal McGriff teams and trade associations.
