Judge Julian Mann III retired from the bench after serving his 8th term as chief administrative law judge for the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings. He held the role of chief judge for 32 years. As well, he was recognized with a Friend of the Court award from Chief Judge Paul Newby of the Supreme Court of North Carolina.

Dick and Linda Knight, both members of the class of 1976, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. When they arrived on campus in 1973, they were the only married couple in their class.
