Study Abroad Program Combines Sport and Cultural Immersion in Japan
Samford University students traveled to Japan this summer for the Japanese Culture Through Sport course. Led by Patrick Marsh, assistant professor in the School of Health Professions Department of Kinesiology, the program combines academic study of sport with intentional cultural immersion across Tokyo, Hiroshima and Fukuoka.

Nursing Student Awarded Study Abroad Grant, Explores Health Care in the British Isles
Samford nursing student Molly Mitchell received a $1,000 Phi Kappa Phi grant to study abroad through the Nursing in the British Isles course, where she explored global health systems and the legacy of Florence Nightingale. The experience enhanced her clinical perspective, cultural competence and commitment to serving through international nursing.
