Shaun O'Neil

Coming to Samford as a graduate of Pelham High School, Shaun has seized the opportunities to grow in the Humanities both as a University Fellow and outside the program. He served in SGA for two years, first on Freshman Forum and then as a sophomore, he served on the Student Judiciary Council. He has also involved himself in his fraternity, ATO serving on the philanthropy committee all three years, for one of which he served as the Philanthropy Committee Chair. Furthermore, his involvement with the Samford Global office, serving his junior and senior year as an International Ambassador, and his involvement with the Spanish department, teaching Spanish labs for 3 years and leading as President of the Spanish Club, both display his growing passion and calling to serve the Latino and immigrant communities. Additionally, through research and scholarly work focused on identity and community development, he has developed a desire to work in a nonprofit and/or Christian ministry setting with a relevant graduate degree to develop stronger families and communities here in Birmingham and wherever the Lord calls him.
