Senior Fellows from the Samford University Center for Science and Religion will conduct a ten-week series of seminars on big questions in science and religion at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Birmingham (http://www.dawsonchurch.org/) beginning September 7. Sessions are from at 6:15-7:15 on Wednesday evenings and are open to the public.
September 7: What is the relationship between science and religion?
September 14: Where did we come from? (cosmology)
September 21: Where did we come from? (evolution)
September 28: Do we have free will? (cognitive and neuroscience)
October 5: Do we have free will? (chance and determinism)
October 12: What is the soul? (nature of consciousness)
October 19: What will it mean to be human? (transhumanism)
October 26: What will it mean to be human? (current precedent)
November 2: Do miracles occur? (how God interacts with the world)
November 9: Does God exist? (natural theology and beyond)
The series is part of the Center’s “Scientists in Congregations Grant” (funded by the Templeton foundation).
