Dr. Ken Stoltzfus joined the College of Health Sciences as an associate professor and chair of the Department of Social Work in 2013. He previously served as chair of the Social Sciences Department at LCC International University, a North Americanstyle liberal arts university in Klaipeda, Lithuania, and chair of the Department of Social Work at Malone University in Canton, Ohio. In addition to experience in academia, Stoltzfus brings extensive experience as a counselor and administrator at a number of human service agencies, including a residential substance abuse treatment facility for adolescent males, a faithbased addiction treatment clinic and a communitybased mental health program.
Stoltzfus received a Fulbright Lecturing/Research Award in 2010; his Fulbright research project explored faithbased substance abuse rehabilitation in the Russian Federation. His research interests include substance abuse, spirituality/religion and social work in the former Soviet Union. He published numerous articles and has served as associate editor for the journal Social Work and Christianity.
