School of Public Health Scholarships
Alabama and Birmingham Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Endowed Scholarship in Healthcare Administration and Informatics
This scholarship was established for students seeking a degree in healthcare administration with plans to pursue a career in medical practice management after graduation. Applicants must be a member of both the Alabama and Birmingham MGMA Chapters.
Brown Family Foundation Scholarship Fund
This fund is used to award scholarships to students in good academic standing who are currently enrolled in the School of Public Health at Samford University.
Developing Hope Annual and Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Alan and Constadina Long to attract new students to the Department of Social Work.
Eugene E. Pearson, Sr. Dean’s Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor a life devoted to the love of music. Preference will be given to a Social Work student who can demonstrate that music has had an impact on their lives. This might include, but is not limited to, singing in their church choir, playing an instrument, or otherwise being engaged in the arts community.
Marvin Mann Scholarship
With a transformational $100 million gift, Marvin Mann ’54 is the largest single donor to any higher education institution in the state of Alabama.
Mann’s gift is a representation of his confidence in the leadership and future of Samford University and continues on as a living legacy of his commitment to the connection between performance and ethics in the workplace.
Mann scholarships are available exclusively for incoming students. Students must complete a separate scholarship application to receive consideration. This will be available once students submit the admission application.
Mann scholarship amounts vary from $1,000-$5,000 per year and are renewable awards. These scholarships cannot be combined with other Samford aid.
School of Public Health Dean’s Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to graduate students in the School of Public Health. This is a one-time award.
Minimum Requirements:
- Full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours per semester)
- Scholarship eligibility varies by credit hour.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must maintain a 3.0 to retain award.
- Renewable for maximum of 6 semesters or until graduation, whichever comes first.
