Dennis McCay is a native of the Birmingham area and a retiree of AT&T/BellSouth where he spent the majority of his tenure as an IT Project Manager. As a retiree that was well below retirement age, he returned to school, earning his MBA with a thesis that dealt with measuring the cultural differences among American subcultures and then completing his PhD with a dissertation analyzing some of the financial problems that hinder Alabama’s rural health care system.McCay is active in projects with the Alabama Rural Health Association, the Cherokee Tribe of Northeast Alabama (CTNEAL), the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, and his church’s Backpack Buddies program.
