With two years of coursework, Samford University's prepharmacy curriculum will equip you with a foundational experience for a successful transition into McWhorter School of Pharmacy's four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program.

Fast-track Options

This program is an incredible value for students and their families, saving both time and money in one's pursuit of both a bachelor's and Doctor of Pharmacy degree. In addition, with multiple dual degree options, students have the potential to earn three degrees in a matter of six years.

Interview with McWhorter School of Pharmacy as a high school senior and be accepted into the Doctor of Pharmacy program, pending the completion of the two-year prepharmacy curriculum.

Apply and interview for the McWhorter School of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy program as a college sophomore while you are completing the prepharmacy curriculum.

Why Samford?

  • All prepharmacy students are advised by McWhorter School of Pharmacy's director of admission, providing you with direct contact with the admission office while completing your prepharmacy curriculum.
  • Students who receive annual renewable Samford scholarships as an entering freshman can keep their scholarships all four years, including their first two years of pharmacy school.
  • Earn a BS in Pharmacy Studies upon the successful completion of your second year of pharmacy school, enabling you to pursue joint degrees.
  • An undergraduate elective course is offered once a year for prepharmacy students with the purpose of exploring the dynamic career opportunities in pharmacy.
  • Free tutoring help is provided by current Doctor of Pharmacy students who completed the prepharmacy curriculum.
  • Numerous student organizations, including a Prepharmacy Club
