Set at the start of the semester, DASH weeks (Developing Academic Success and Health) are designed to orient first-year students to graduate school and reinforce knowledge with second-year students to ensure they are prepared for the courses they are set to take in the coming year.
Inserted at the halfway and end points of a course, SPRINT weeks (Simulating Practice and ReadINess and Teamwork) challenge students to apply knowledge and test skills through lab assessments and simulation experiences—in the midst of didactic learning—with formative avenues for feedback.
Students begin Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences, or clinical rotations, in the spring semester of their third year. In doing so, it builds in time in the weeks before graduation for the class to reconvene on campus to learn from each other practices experiences and prepare for the licensure exam.
