Preparing the Next Generation of Pharmacists

Developed by our faculty, this curriculum addresses the ever-evolving role of pharmacists, ensuring our graduates are ready on day one.

Pharmacy Students

Immersive Learning

Apply knowledge and skills through intentionally designed courses and hands-on experiences including health care simulation, introductory and advanced pharmacy practice, research and more.

Collaborative Community

Engage with the pharmacy profession and other members of today’s health care team through an environment that prioritizes interprofessional collaboration and student support.

Meaningful Opportunities

Gain access to resources and opportunities focused on preparing graduates for their careers, through global engagement, dynamic elective course offerings prior to and after advanced pharmacy practice experiences, courses centered around professional development and wellness, and more.

Plan of Study Course Descriptions

A Structure for Student Success
With its overall structure, the curriculum divides courses into modules, incorporating DASH and SPRINT weeks, as well as a new approach to APPEs.

DASH Weeks

Set at the start of the semester, DASH weeks (Developing Academic Success and Health) are designed to orient first-year students to graduate school and reinforce knowledge with second-year students to ensure they are prepared for the courses they are set to take in the coming year.

SPRINT Weeks

Held at the midpoint of each semester, SPRINT weeks (Simulating Practice ReadINess and Teamwork) challenge students to apply their knowledge and test their skills through lab assessments and simulation experiences. These sessions, integrated into didactic learning, provide formative feedback opportunities to enhance student development.

Student Consultation

Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences

Students begin Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences, or clinical rotations, in the spring semester of their third year. In doing so, it builds in time in the weeks before graduation for the class to reconvene on campus to learn from each other practices experiences and prepare for the licensure exam.
