Building on the success of its inaugural year, the Samford University Alumni Association’s mentorship program offers expanded opportunities for professional growth and engagement across the country.
Launched in 2023, the Samford Alumni Mentorship Program aspires to foster professional development by connecting experienced alumni with recent graduates and other young alumni. The program’s vision: enhancing alumni interaction and support while facilitating career advancement.
This year the program has expanded its reach, allowing alumni nationwide to participate as either mentors or mentees. Participants will be paired based on their professions to ensure relevant and beneficial mentorship experiences.
Mentors and mentees will meet monthly and can choose to meet virtually or in person, depending on their locations. This flexibility aims to accommodate the diverse needs of alumni, whether they live in the same city or across the country.
Casey Ramey, executive director of alumni and philanthropic engagement, expressed enthusiasm about the program's growth. “The Samford University Alumni Association is proud to offer this program as an alumni benefit,” Ramey said. “With over 57,000 living alumni, there is a significant opportunity to grow professionally from one another as well as support alumni as they begin and progress within their careers. Professional development is a focus of the association, and we hope alumni can utilize the mentorship program to grow within careers and build community with other alumni.”
The Samford Alumni Mentorship Program’s expansion emphasizes the university’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and supportive alumni network. By connecting alumni with similar professional interests, the program not only aids individual career progression but also strengthens the sense of community among Samford graduates.
