Hispanic Heritage Month falls between September 15 and October 15 each year, and Samford plans to celebrate the occasion with several events for students, faculty and community members to partake in. The Office of Student Success and Diversity (OSSD) will be offering several opportunities to learn about why we celebrate the Hispanic community during this time and how you can further connect with your community.
Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15 in honor of the independence anniversaries for several Latin American countries: El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras.
In recognition of these historic dates and Hispanic Heritage Month, the Samford Latino Student Organization, the International Club and the Spanish Club will cohost events throughout the month with the Office of Student Success and Diversity. These events will be promoted on our office social media channels, @samforddiverse.
This year, the celebration will kick off on Ben Brown Plaza at 10:30 a.m., Sept. 21. Take a look at some of the events going on around our community this month!
