Samford University’s Davis Architects Guest Artist Series will feature pianist Inon Barnatan, Thursday, Nov. 6, 7:30 p.m., in Brock Recital Hall. The recital is presented in conjunction with the annual Fletcher and Nell Morris Piano Competition.

Barnatan has been playing piano since age 3 and made his orchestral debut at age 11. Barnatan performs with orchestras around the world and frequently performs as a recital partner of cellist Alisa Weilerstein.

School of the Arts Dean Joe Hopkins said that this concert is a “great opportunity to hear from a truly great star.”

“Inon Barnatan is one of the rising novas in the world of music,” said Hopkins. “The New York Philharmonic just named him the first Artist Associate of the symphony. This is a new kind of position among American orchestras, and being the first chosen for this three-year post is an extraordinary international honor.”
