Samford University’s Davis Architects Guest Artists Series, Birmingham Chamber Music Society and Dr. Chandler and Jane Paris Smith will host the King’s Singers--one of the world’s premiere vocal ensembles--Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Samford’s Brock Recital Hall.
The King’s Singers are instantly recognisable for their spot-on intonation, impeccable vocal blend, flawless articulation of the text, incisive timing and wit. The Grammy-winning group champions the work of both young and established composers. Their current “Myths” tour offers a musically rich and diverse program related to the theme of how the world and humankind came to be in their present form.
The Samford concert will feature works by Thomas Morley, Giovanni Croce, Camille Saint-Saëns, Giovanni Gabrieli, Edward Johnson, Francis Poulenc, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Thomas Weelkes, Joby Talbot and popular American composers to be announced from the stage.
