The Samford University chapter of Alpha Delta Pi sorority captured a top national award at the sorority’s recent summer leadership convention.
Samford’s Kappa chapter was one of 13 ADPi chapters, out of a possible 140 contenders, to win the Golden Lion award. The honor is given every two years to recognize excellence in operations and efficiency.
The recognition marked the 14th time that the Samford chapter has received the honor, and is the most of any chapter in the sorority’s history, according to Samford director of Greek life Dr. Denny Bubrig.
Bubrig saluted current chapter president Brittany Truitt and immediate past president Dawn Terry on the accomplishment. “They worked very hard to maintain this level of excellence they have achieved,” Bubrig said of the chapter leaders.
The honor places the Samford chapter at the top of the ranks for their organization, added Bubrig.
“They are doing things right both operationally, and in the manner in which they do it.”
