Ralph Gold, Samford University professor of exercise science and sports medicine, was a program presenter at the Southern District American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) convention Feb. 16-20 in Greensboro, N.C.

As the Alabama state president-elect for, Gold made two presentations at the convention: “Challenges and Successes of Service Learning” and “Cross-Training: Is It Essential for Athletic Performance?”

“AAHPERD provides an opportunity to interact with other professors of like-mindedness from the other 13 states in the southern district and to collaborate with them on issues pertinent to health, fitness and wellness,” Gold said.

Gold first joined the Samford faculty in 1986 and returned in 1995.
