Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy will hold its White Coat Ceremony at Shades Mountain Baptist Church Friday, Oct. 7.
Students of pharmacy will be recognized and presented their white coat by Dr. Charles Sands, Dean and Professor of Pharmacy, and their coater.
The White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage for pharmacy students as they accept the role and responsibility of a professional. It officially welcomes them to commit to the ethics and values of the profession.
All pharmacists in attendance will recite the American Pharmacists Association Pledge of Professionalism.
Dr. Todd Edgar will be the keynote speaker for the event. He is a McWhorter School of Pharmacy graduate and is currently a national director of contracting and pricing strategy for Allergen, a pharmaceutical manufacturer.
