Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School will welcome participants from 23 states for its annual Pastors School July 18-22.
About 250 persons have registered for the program, now in its 24th year as a time of inspiration and renewal for pastors and their families. The schedule includes speakers versed in a variety of Biblical and spiritual specialties.
Evening speakers are: Monday, Chuck Colson, president and founder, Prison Fellowship Ministries; Tuesday, Jim Garlow, senior pastor, Skyline Wesleyan, San Diego, Calif.; Wednesday, Maurice Watson, senior pastor, Beulahland Bible Church, Macon, Ga.; and Thursday, Tullian Tchividjian, pastor, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Richard Bewes, preacher, author, broadcaster and former pastor of All Souls Church in London, will lead Bible studies each morning. The topics are based on passages from the book of Daniel.
Daily workshops on several dozen topics will focus on themes of Bible and theology, Christian living and spirituality, ministry and leadership, and preaching and worship.
The schedule includes times for fellowship and recreation, and special programs for children and youth. A women’s track, Cast your Burdens, is based on Psalm 55:10. A pre-conference seminar for pastors and their spouses will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 18.
This year’s expected participants represent more than 14 denominations, including Baptist, Catholic, Chinese Christian, Anglican, Church of God, Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Wesleyan and others.
Registration will be underway until the first day of Pastors School, says Beeson Extension Division registrar Devon Bagwell, although no refunds will be given after that date.
