Samford University’s Christian Women’s Leadership Center (CWLC) will host a panel discussion, “Daughters of Abraham: Women in Religion,” Thursday, Sept. 23. The public is invited to the 7 p.m. program in Brock Forum, located in Dwight Beeson Hall.

Panelists are Jan Kennamer, a minister at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church; Glenda Curry, pastor, All Saints Episcopal Church; Monica Khalaf, representing the Birmingham Islamic Society; and Sister Margaret Andrew Baker, a Dominican nun with the Congregation of St. Cecilia.

Each panelist will present a statement about the role of women in her faith tradition. The discussion will also include information about the role of women in the Jewish faith. A question and answer time will follow. CWLC director Dr. Delane Tew will moderate.

Samford’s CWLC, a joint partnership with the Woman’s Missionary Union of the Southern Baptist Convention, provides learning opportunities for women to realize the fullest measure of their gifts in all areas of the human endeavor. The program offers a 20-credit minor in Christianity, Women and Leadership Studies.
