Doctrine that Dances: Bringing Doctrinal Preaching and Teaching to Life by Samford University's Beeson Divinity School professor Robert Smith, Jr., has claimed its second book of the year award.
The volume was recently named 2008 book of the Year by preachingtoday.com, which cited the work as an excellent resource "that speaks to the soul of the preacher."
Last spring, the book won Preaching Magazine's Book of the Year honor for 2008.
Dr. Smith, professor of Christian preaching at Beeson, is an ordained Baptist minister, frequent speaker on preaching topics, and a contributing editor of a study of Christian ministry in the African-American church, "Preparing for Christian Ministry." With Beeson dean Dr. Timothy George, he is co-editor of A Mighty Long Journey: Reflections on Racial Reconciliation.
