Margaret Fong, JP, Hong Kong Commissioner, USA will visit Samford University's Brock School of Business Tuesday, September 23 at 2:30 p.m. She will speak to students and area business leaders about the trade partnership between Hong Kong and the United States as part of the new Brock International Business Speakers Series. The event will take place in the Brock Forum in Dwight Beeson Hall.
Fong most recently assumed the position of Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA. In her position, she serves as the highest ranking official in the United States and she directs the Hong Kong Special Administrative Regions' efforts in promoting US and Hong Kong economic and trade initiatives. She also works to build relationships with constituents in the US. Fong oversees three Hong Kong Economic and Trade Offices located in Washington, DC, New York and San Francisco.
"Our role at the Brock School of Business is to help bring about a better understanding of global economies and their important strategic relationships in the United States and within Alabama," said Beck A. Taylor, dean of the Brock School of Business. "Hosting an international business speakers series gives us the opportunity to educate and to demonstrate just how important it is for us to learn about other cultures and how they influence our economic growth."
