Montgomery insurance executive Thomas K. Albrecht has been named 1999 School of Business Alumnus of the Year at Samford University. Albrecht, President/CEO of The Barclay Agency, was recognized at a recent School of Business awards ceremony at the university.
Albrecht received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and insurance at the school in 1967.
Prior to assuming his current post with The Barclay Agency in 1989, Albrecht was president of the Montgomery-based Gulf Agency during 1972-89.
Active in community affairs, he is a chairman, Board of Directors, Baptist Health Care Foundation; chairman, Military Affairs Council, Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce; member, Montgomery Area Committee of 100 and trustee, Air University Foundation, Maxwell AFB.
He is zone vice president and member, Board of Directors, American Association of Managing General Agents.
Albrecht is a past president of the Montgomery Ballet, Kiwanis Club, Broker and Managing Agents of Alabama, and Montgomery chapter, Air Force Association.
