Samford University’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders was named Scholar’s Bowl Champions in the inaugural Speech and Hearing Association of Alabama’s (SHAA) Quest for the Cup, an intercollegiate scholar’s bowl held during the Annual SHAA Convention, Feb. 17.
The Quest was designed to assist graduate students in maximizing their preparation for the national exam, Praxis. Teams from Samford University, University of Alabama and University of Montevallo participated in the competition.
“The entire faculty is very proud of the team for their demonstration of knowledge and sportsmanship,” said Carol Koch, professor, speech language pathology program director and Quest team sponsor. “We are so pleased with this demonstration of their exam preparation, and we look forward to seeing them achieve outstanding Praxis exam results.”
The speech language pathology program boasts a nearly 99% four-year average Praxis pass rate and a 100% four-year average employment rate.
