Todd Oakley joined the Samford community to serve as Associate Campus Minister during the summer of 2020. He has the privilege of walking alongside students and helping them take their next step in their faith journey during the college years.
Although Todd was hired in 2020, his Samford experience started long before that. Some of his most memorable Samford moments include winning Step Sing, playing for intramural championships and marrying his beautiful wife Lindsay in Reid Chapel.
Todd graduated from the Brock School of Business in 2008 with a degree in Business Administration before earning his Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013. Before coming on staff at Samford, Todd served in the local church for 13 years as a Student and College Pastor in Memphis, TN and Hoover, AL.
Todd is highly competitive and loves everything to do with sports and Atlanta. Unfortunately, as an Atlanta Braves, Falcons, Hawks and UGA Bulldogs fan, he knows heartache and disappointment all too well. He and Lindsay have two beautiful, smart, confident and sassy (not so little) girls, Lila Kate and Anna Banks who one day want to carry the family legacy on as Samford Bulldogs. They love game nights with the family and fun getaways to explore new cities.
Todd is passionate about connecting with people across campus and believes that college is one of the greatest times of your life. But, more importantly, he wants to help students own their faith and become godly young men and women who will be a light for Jesus wherever life takes them. Living the Christian life is an incredible journey that should never be boring! What better place to learn that then at Samford!
