Technical Sergeant Andrew F. Tolar is the Officer Accessions Instructor of Air Force  Reserve Officers' Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 012 at Samford University and cross-town campuses. His responsibilities cover a litany of items: onboarding new cadets, medical oversight and DoDMERB liaison, travel requirements, trusted agent services, legal oversight, and most importantly he educates and mentors  cadets on the enlisted corps' values, needs, and career requirements. Additionally, TSgt Tolar is an academic instructor covering Aerospace 100 and 200 level classes on topics such as followership, resiliency, core values and competencies, etc.


Technical Sergeant Tolar enlisted as a Multi-Domain Operations Aviator in 2014. Upon completion of technical training, he has spent his career performing Airborne Maintenance on the RC-135 ISR platform, attaining 750 combat hours, 800 hours as an instructor/evaluator, and a total of 2150 hours in the sky. He has deployed twice to  CENTCOM, INDOPACOM area, as well to EUCOM to fly sorties during Operations INHERENT RESOLVE, ENDURING FREEDOM, FREEDOM'S SENTINEL, and others in support of NATO efforts and the Global War on Terror.
