
Captain Carson L. Kennedy is the Operations Flight Commander and an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corp (AFROTC), Detachment 012, Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama. In this capacity, he is directly responsible for the training, education, and development of officer candidates into Air or Space Force commissioned officers through a comprehensive program.
Captain Kennedy earned his commission in May of 2017 through the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corp upon graduating from Samford University, Birmingham, AL. He completed the Airfield Operations Course in January of 2018 and since then has held a variety of Airfield Operations positions related to undergraduate pilot training and air mobility operations. Prior to his current assignment, Captain Kennedy was the Airfield Operations Flight Commander for the 437th Operations Support Squadron at Joint Base Charleston where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations and mission requirements in support of Air Mobility Command’s busiest installation. He has also served as flight commander for the Air Forces Central Command, Al Jaber Air Base, Kuwait in Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.
