Samford University will partner with Cedarworks Inc. to present the 11th annual Lions Den pitch competition aimed toward advancing the Kingdom through Business-as-Mission (BAM). The 2024 event will be held Thursday, Oct. 10 at 4:30 p.m.
As a founding partner of the event, Samford hosted Lion's Den on campus for the first nine years. Due to student enrollment growth and decreased capacity on campus, new event partner, Highlands College, hosted the 2023 event and will once again serve as the host for 2024.
Since its inception in Birmingham in 2014, the event has welcomed a diverse community of entrepreneurs from around the world. The Shark Tank-style competition will feature three BAM companies presenting their business plans to a live audience and a judging panel of “lions” seeking capital, resources and exposure.
Kate McCombs, assistant professor of management, will represent Samford and Brock School of Business as a member of the lions judging panel. McCombs' research interests include leadership, identity work and gender roles, and her passion lies in leader development.
Samford students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. Learn more and purchase tickets for this year’s event below.
