Student-athlete Titus Moore, a marketing graduate and current MBA student, had two prestigious internships with Coca-Cola and Danone the past two summers and is currently running his own direct-to-consumer company, Moore’s Granola. With the help of his professional and athletic experience, Moore officially launched Moore’s Granola on February 3. After winning the Regional Round of Global Student Entrepreneur Awards earlier this month, Moore is a true example of hard work, professional drive and entrepreneurial spirit.

Moore’s internships have significantly amplified his professional growth and passion for business. Moore reflected on his extensive internship experience and said, “Working for two of the most well-known companies in the world was a blessing that I am so grateful to have had. Going from the consumer to being a part of the teams that represent the brands was an experience I extremely valued. During my time at both companies, I was taught first-hand how to be the best I can be at my position. Both Coca-Cola and Danone internships have given me not only the professional tools to succeed but the confidence to join the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry as a founder myself.”

Between internships, MBA program, running his own business and being a student athlete, Moore also participated in the Innovate Alabama Hackathon. The Innovate Alabama Hackathon was a cohort of aspiring entrepreneurial Alabama-based students. Each participating team was hand-selected and with solving a problem through economically, self-sustaining solution that each group created.

Of the 20 teams selected in their cohort, Moore’s team, himself and fellow MBA students Evan Brooks and Stephen Summerow, were selected for the top five finalists. They were given the opportunity to pitch their innovative idea to a panel of incredible entrepreneurial leaders from around the world.

Simply put: Moore is no stranger to hard work. By engaging in internships, growing his business in the Samford Startup Program, and participating in various professional development events, Moore has gained practical exposure to the dynamic landscape of business operations.

Moore has cultivated a strong foundation for his future career, and shared some valuable insights, “My career goal is to become an executive of a major CPG company. From my experience, if you want to stand out to a larger company, an actionable step would be to show initiative through other opportunities to show that you are the right person for the job. Sometimes that means being in positions that you may not initially have in mind.”
