Anna Tanner received the Junior Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, among other scholarships.

On Friday, April 8, Samford University’s Brock School of Business held its 58th annual Scholarships and Awards Ceremony. During the event, more than $240,000 in scholarships were awarded to deserving business students to apply to tuition for the 2022-2023 academic year including several scholarships for students of underrepresented backgrounds.

Accounting major Anna Tanner was awarded the Junior Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, among other scholarships. This award is presented each year to the Brock School of Business junior with the highest grade point average.

Taijah Clark became the first recipient of the Ben M. Elrod Scholarship established by President Emeritus Andrew Westmoreland and his wife, Jeanna, in 2021. The scholarship honors Ben M. Elrod, the 14th president of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, whom Westmoreland succeeded. In the early 1960s, Elrod led in the racial integration of the congregation of his church and was a lifelong proponent of racial justice.

Also established in 2021, the Reidinger-Smith Scholarship aims to enhance opportunities for underrepresented students studying in Brock School of Business. The 2022 recipient of this scholarship is Ingrid Soto Campero.
