Art Carden, professor in Samford University’s Brock School of Business, is an internationally known economist and regular media expert on topics such as economic history, public policy and regulation, causes and consequences of economic growth, and more.
 
The Curious Task, a podcast hosted by Canada’s Institute for Liberal Studies, featured Carden in February as he discussed “Why Are We Rich?." The topic was centered around his book Leave Me Alone and I'll Make You Rich: How the Bourgeois Deal Enriched the World, which he coauthored with world renowned economist Deirdre McCloskey. Also in Canada, Carden led a webinar for the Fraser Institute in Vancouver, for whom he serves as a senior fellow. The session featured McCloskey, her successful career, and their book.

In the U.S., Carden is a frequent contributing writer for Forbes.com and the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER). Other new publications include an article published by the Association of Christian Economists titled “The Goodness of Tolerance: The Humanity of Political Economy.” Additionally, a recent Faithful Economy podcast episode, produced by the Association of Christian Economists, featured Carden and his new book. And, he was also a recent guest on The Soul of Enterprise podcast where he discussed how production rather than redistribution alleviates long term poverty.
