Samford University’s Brock School of Business set a goal in the spring of 2019 to complete funding of all available room sponsorships in its Cooney Hall by May 2021. Contributions to this effort help ensure that the business building remains a state of the art learning facility.
At the business school’s advisory board meeting in November of 2019, interim Dean Chad Carson announced that donors had given or pledged gifts to complete the effort 18 months ahead of the original goal.
“We have great momentum at Samford and within Brock School of Business,” said Carson. “We work hard to be a partner to the business community and produce graduates for today’s workplace. We have generous donors and friends that are supportive of the Christian mission of Samford and want to partner with Brock School of Business in ways to strengthen the school.”
Carson said the effort had raised more than $500,000 in gifts, pledges and matching funds to add to the Cooney Hall building endowment.
“These additional donations will help ensure that Cooney Hall remains a state-of-the-art learning facility for generations to come,” said Carson. “These funds will help with technology upgrades, equipment replacement and general maintenance of the physical structure of Cooney Hall.”
Carson noted that the new Cooney Hall sponsorships came from “a wide range of supporters” including alumni, faculty, staff, recent graduates, friends, family, first-time givers and corporate partners.
