B.J. Hale is an academic adviser at Samford University’s Brock School of Business. In her role, she advises freshmen and sophomore pre-business students.
She received a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology from Auburn University at Montgomery. After graduation, she began her career with the Jefferson County Board of Education as a speech-language pathologist. While working, she earned a master’s degree in school counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She transitioned into the school counselor position in various capacities, with her final 10 years as a high school counselor at Mortimer Jordan High School. She sponsored many student clubs and extracurricular activities and participated in numerous committees and organizations. Hale retired with over 31 years of service with the Jefferson County Board of Education. Serving students and families has been a privilege for her, and she is eager to continue this role at Samford.
She and her husband, Tommy, enjoy traveling and spending time with their family. They are active members of Enon Baptist Church.
