Co-hosts Doug Sweeney and Kristen Padilla talk to three alumni, Chris Hanna, Eric Parker and Trey Johnson, about their ministry paths from students at Beeson Divinity School to professors at Highlands College in Birmingham.
Chris Hanna (Ph.D., Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary) is Professor of Theological Studies at Highlands College and serves as a Pastor at Church of the Highlands. He completed his M.Div. at Beeson Divinity School of Samford University (2016). He studied Historical Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a ThM (2019) and completed his Ph.D. dissertation, “Retrieval for the Sake of Renewal: Timothy George as a Historical Theologian” (2020). Eric Parker (M.Div., Beeson Divinity School) is Assistant Professor of Theological Studies at Highlands College. He is currently pursuing a doctorate from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Public Theology. Eric is interested in serving the church and the world at the intersection of Christ and Culture. You can find his work in outlets such as The Gospel Coalition and Radical. He is married to Katie, and father to Hudson and Elizabeth.
Trey Johnson (M.Div., Beeson Divinity School) is Professor of Biblical Studies at Highlands College in Birmingham, AL. He is a pastor, professor, author, and 21st century leader with a heart and passion to see all people impacted by gospel of Jesus Christ. He is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Trey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Birmingham-Southern College, and later earned his Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University. Trey is married to Shantel.
