Interior Design

Samford offers a CIDA accredited interior design program that graduates students with a unique professional perspective. Students study art as the foundation of the design process. Through the university’s collective curriculum offerings and Christian mission, students gain an appreciation not only for all aspects of design but also view the world through a faith-based lens.

Joe Turner

“Samford has helped me have more confidence in articulating my design ideas.”—Joe Turner, interior design major

Interior design major Joe Turner’s painting, Balance of Power, was recently featured in the Architectural Digest Iconic Home, a virtual show home sponsored by the publication. The piece was displayed in the home’s entry and selected by Philadelphia-based Gray Space Interiors. The home highlighted work by members of the Black Interior Designers Network from 13 different Black designer-led firms. Turner credits Samford for strengthening his professional skills.

Tech Requirements

This requirement allows students to work independently and integrate digital technologies into their learning.
