After an exciting fall bringing back the arts to live audiences, Samford’s School of the Arts offers a wide variety of events for the spring as well.  The Art Gallery opens its spring schedule with The Sum of Our Parts, a combination exhibit featuring the work of 17 art and design faculty members from Jan. 13-Feb. 3.  This exhibit will be followed by guest artist Jamaal Barber Feb. 8-March 3.  Student exhibits will end the year including the Annual Juried Student Exhibition March 22-April 7.  All events are part of the Clarence Brooks Art and Design Series.

The Annual Honor Band Festival welcomes hundreds of middle and high school band students each year to work with clinicians and then to perform in the Wright Center.  This year’s culminating concert takes place on Jan. 15 at 2:30 in the Wright Center. 

The Davis Architects Guest Artist Series begins on Jan. 25 with internationally acclaimed pianist Misha Dichter at 7:30 p.m. in Brock Recital Hall.  Additional guest artists include violinist Rachel Barton Pine on Feb. 15,  Sandbox Percussion with Elspeth Davis on Feb. 24 and Invoke on March 22.  This guest artist series is also made possible by the Birmingham Chamber Music Society.  Tickets are available at tickets.samford.edu.

The Michael J. and Mary Anne Freeman Series presents The Laramie Project Feb. 3-6  in Harrison Theatre. Re/vise, the Annual Dance Concert, is Feb. 25-27  in the Wright Center. The Dr. Chandler and Jane Paris Smith Opera Series will conclude the theatre and opera season with The Magic Flute April 7-10 in Harrison Theatre. Tickets are available at tickets.samford.edu.
