The Division of Music in Samford University’s School of the Arts celebrated its students at the Annual Honors Recital on April 12 in Brock Recital Hall. Many scholarships and awards were made possible by generous donors.

“The night would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors.  Not only do they provide scholarship money for our students, but they endlessly support students, faculty, and staff with their time, presence, and encouragement,” said Division of Music interim chair Cindy St. Clair who hosted the evening.

The longstanding tradition included performances by music students, and awards were presented by faculty members Cindy St. Clair, Emily Andrews, Grant Dalton, Joel Davis, Jeff Flaniken, Kristin Kenning, Connie Macon and Beth McGinnis. Tessa Brown, Rebekah Lamb, Adam Moore, Jessica Smith, Lenox Jones (dancer), Emerie Ediger, Matthew Reber and Donny Snyder performed.

“Being able to share this event in person for the first time in two years brought a renewed excitement to the Division of Music.  We were joined by parents, members of our School of the Arts Advisory Board, and other donors and guests.  Our students seemed excited to learn about accomplishments from persistent and dedicated work and to experience performances by their peers, which included beautiful collaborations as well as solo work,” said St. Clair.
