Immersive and collaborative opportunities allow students to put music into action by performing, teaching, composing and worshiping on and off campus.

Our demanding but rewarding programs in composition, music and worship, music education and performance provides students with the opportunities and flexibility to explore their talents and prepare for an ever-changing musical landscape.

Performance

  • Students develop core skills and grow both musically and spiritually through engaged faculty and performance training.
  • A variety of music ensembles allow students to perform both individually as well as collectively on campus, in Birmingham, nationally and internationally.
  • Each year, the School of the Arts features more than 200 performances by students and guest artists.

Service

Students serve weekly in area schools, churches and nonprofit organizations.

Samford University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
