Program Summary

Samford University’s Physics Department offers a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor of science degree in physics or engineering physics. A minor in physics is also available, as is the bachelor of arts degree for preprofessional programs.

The curriculum includes classic physics courses taught in a modern technological setting. Students take courses such as General Physics, Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Modern Physics, Optics, Thermal Physics, Electricity and Magnetism, Electronics and Nuclear Physics.

With small class sizes, students receive individual attention, ensuring a strong foundation in problem-solving, critical thinking and hands-on learning.
