Samford University’s Experiential Learning and Simulation Center celebrated Health Care Simulation Week, Sept. 16-20, in partnership with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. As a part of the week, the center was selected as one of only three simulation centers in the world to be featured by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare through a Facebook Live tour of our facilities.
The tour provides a glimpse inside the Experiential Learning and Simulation Center, which spans 22,000 square feet within Samford’s College of Health Sciences facilities and offers discipline-specific and interdisciplinary learning opportunities across the simulation continuum.
Samford’s Experiential Learning and Simulation Center is unique in its purpose of serving all four schools within the college. And just last year, the center earned provisional accreditation from the Society of Simulation in Healthcare, setting it on a path to become the second fully accredited simulation center in Alabama.
In celebration of Health Care Simulation Week, the center offered demonstrations of its equipment and technology each day, including its new Ares manikins, which can provide real time feedback for CPR, and Lucina, a childbirth simulator.
