Around 40 alumni, friends and family gathered in April to celebrate the launch of Samford University’s Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing Alumni Chapter, a new group designed to strengthen connections among nursing graduates and the school.
The chapter is one of the first school-based alumni groups at Samford and reflects a broader effort to foster fellowship and reconnection across class years. For nursing alumni, the chapter provides opportunities to build relationships rooted in shared experiences, support current students and remain engaged with Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing as it prepares future nurses for service and leadership.
“Launching the Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing Alumni Chapter is a meaningful step toward bringing our alumni community closer together,” said Monica Cotton Kline ’16, DNP ’21, chapter chair. “We hope this chapter will deepen engagement and create opportunities to support current students and future nurses as they grow into the professionals and leaders they are called to be.”
The event marked the beginning of an effort to connect nursing graduates across generations, strengthening relationships between alumni, students and the school that shaped their professional paths. As the chapter grows, leaders anticipate expanded opportunities for mentorship, service and alumni involvement.
“Our leadership team has been grateful for the interest so far, and we look forward to building connections among alumni, Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing, the Samford University Alumni Association and the university,” Kline said.
