Samford University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) has earned the national organization’s Star Chapter Award for a seventh consecutive year.
PRSSA notified Communication and Media professor and chapter advisor Betsy Emmons of the honor in July. To earn the honor, the chapter demonstrated multiple activities related to advancement of the profession of public relations. The group’s 2020 activities included a national remote learning program and a PR awareness campaign for local high schools. The chapter earned monthly PRSSA Pacesetter Awards for both projects.
The public relations concentration in Samford’s journalism and mass communication major offers highly active, professionally advised and nationally accredited preparation for internships, graduate study and careers in the field.
