The Open House featured student honors, decorated spaces and an Advisory Council meeting

Samford University’s Department of Communication and Media (CAM) hosted an Open House event Nov. 5 as part of the university’s Homecoming celebrations. The event included the inaugural meeting of the department’s newly reconstituted Advisory Council.

Nineteen council members attended the meeting in person or via Zoom, along with alumni of both of the department’s academic programs and local media professionals who are committed to enhancing communication and media education at Samford.

Department chair Ignatius Fosu opened the meeting with an overview of the department, including introductions, program offerings, student media updates and recent student awards.

Council members advised on curriculum updates, technology needs, student media, development, and other aspects of the department to ensure that it is providing the highest quality education possible.

CAM Homecoming week also included faculty door decorations and a wall for students and alumni to share their favorite memories and traditions from their time at Samford.
